Position: Sr. Dashboard Developer

Locations: Remote

Duration: 6 months, may extend up to 12-18 or convert full time.

 

Scope: 

A Dashboard Developer who can:

·     Research, query, and synthesize data in Teradata and GCP BigQuery databases as part of Cloud Data Warehouse migration project

·     Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify the accuracy of database structures and data

·     Perform user acceptance testing to verify the accuracy of Tableau dashboards, Crystal reports and Business Objects reports

·     Coordinate and effectively communicate within and across data mart owners, analytics, technology, and support teams

·     Demonstrate strong SQL skills, dashboarding skills, business intelligence, and the ability to fully understand the needs of the customer

 

Requirements:

·     5+ years of full-time development experience using (Tableau and Oracle) or Teradata SQL

·     3+ years of experience in testing database structures, data, and dashboards

·     Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in business terms with business partners up to the VP level

·     Effective self-management skills, in particular the ability to proactively communicate and prioritize

·     Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

 

Recommended:

·     Development or testing experience in Crystal Reports and Business Objects

·     Experience in developing or using GCP BigQuery 

·     Experience in using SDLC tools including Confluence, JIRA, etc.

·     Knowledge of the brokerage business, financial services

·     A fundamental knowledge of data modeling and/or data mart design

Must have Skills:

The real basics are automation engineer with Java and Selenium with Agile experience.

Additional Skills:

Leadership experience. There are several junior members on the team and the manager is looking for someone who can help develop their skills.

 

The Expertise You Have

Full-stack engineer with knowledge in a breadth of test automation and mock frameworks and service virtualization tools

Expertise in building and testing large-scale cloud-native (AWS, Azure) digital enterprise applications on micro-services, serverless and event-driven architectures

Practical knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promotes proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security, testable and maintainable software.

An attitude of test first development and a deep expertise in creating unit and environment-agnostic integration tests, as well as experienced in modern test and mock frameworks and service virtualization tools. We believe in testing and that quality is everyone’s job.

Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) certifications are a plus.


The Skills You Bring

A proven foundation in software engineering – bachelor’s degree + preferred, 10+ years of experience

Experience with building and automating testing of Java REST microservices and Kafka-based event streaming solutions using test automation frameworks is a really nice to have skill

Working experience with test automation tools and frameworks (Cucumber, REST Assured, WireMock, JMeter etc.)

Development using Java, Maven, and Stash

Proficient with using Test Doubles and Virtual Assets, and creating environment-agnostic Integration tests

Excellent communication and influencing skills to facilitate collaboration across technology and business partners without having a direct authority over people

Curious, motivated, can-do attitude, self-directed, proactive, and results oriented.

We seek 2 -qualified Java Developers for a contract position working remotely from anywhere in Texas. Will perform advanced automated systems development work in support of Vocational Rehabilitation software systems. Responsible for activities during all phases of the system development life cycle including analyzing, diagnosing and resolving software, data, hardware, reporting problems, and troubleshooting system issues for internal and external clients. Develops and tests web applications that meet design specifications, including accessibility and usability requirements. Documents current processes, reviews written specification additions/modifications, and creates test cases for submitted defects involving new and modified program policies.
