What Happens If You Don’t Get Selected in the H-1B Lottery?
If you are not selected in the H-1B lottery, don’t panic—there are several alternative options to stay and work in the U.S. legally.
🔹 1️⃣ Check Your F-1 OPT or STEM OPT Status
✅ Regular OPT (12 months) – If you still have time left on your OPT, you can continue working until it expires.
✅ STEM OPT Extension (24 months) – If you have a STEM degree, you can apply for a 24-month extension and try the H-1B lottery again next year.

✔ The H-1B lottery happens every March.
✔ You can try again next year if you still have valid status.
